Participation in the NaziCrimesAtlas

An invitation

Together with schools, associations and all interested members of the public, we want to explore local history in more detail. We address all who wish to bring Nazi crimes in their city to memory and to tell the stories of victims and perpetrators. Text, images and other content can be added to the app without effort. Get in touch.

We train

How do you find your way to reliable historical sources? What can you put into the app? Which best-practice examples are useful? We offer workshops on these questions — scientifically sound and easy to follow.

We mediate

The berlinHistory app is the foundation of the NaziCrimesAtlas. In workshops we show how to prepare research results so we can integrate them. It is straightforward.

Ways to contribute

  • Historical photographs (municipal, state and federal archives, private collections)
  • Photos of the present (Stolpersteine, monuments, memorials)
  • Local maps tracing a single act (arrest, first detention, assembly camp, deportation station)
  • Interviews with contemporary witnesses
  • Links to local history publications or newspaper articles
  • References to existing local history initiatives
  • Research into further historical documents (Nazi-era press, international reactions, letters of the persecuted, diaries)
  • References to previous and current EVZ-funded projects
  • References to Allied trials (Nuremberg IMT, US successor trials — Memorium Nuremberg Trials)
  • References to memorial sites in the Federal Republic (concentration camp memorials, asylums, execution sites, prisons)
